Key & Let Programme

Let Programme

Each year, 10 pupils from Year 9 are selected to go on the LET Programme, which is run by Young Enterprise and Junior Achievement Ireland. LET stands for Learning and Educating together. This programme links our school with pupils from another part of Northern Ireland and a school from across the border. This year we are linked with St. Joseph's High School, Crossmaglen and Breifne College in Cavan.

It consists of 3 residentials, lasting for 10 days in total. On this programme, the pupils participate in enterprise training which is focused on communication, teamwork, business strategies, personal finance and budgeting. At the end of the programme the pupils deliver a Dragon's Den style presentation to judges, in which they have to promote their business idea and show off prototypes.

The other enjoyable aspect of the programme is the range of outdoor activities provided. Examples of these activities are orienteering, raft building, night canoeing, off-road driving, archery and forest laser-tag.

On the last night of the programme a gala dinner is held, where awards are given out to pupils who have exceeded expectations during the programme. Previous winners from our school are David Haggan and Paula Hayes.

We are one of only 30 schools in Northern Ireland who are lucky enough to be selected for this programme and have had to pleasure of the residentials being on the idyllic Lusty Beg Island, as well as the recently refurbished Share Centre.
